His Holiness Karekin II Receives Internal Affairs Minister for Belarus

On April 17, His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, received Major General Vladimir Naumov, the Minister of Internal Affairs for Belarus. The Minister and his delegation were accompanied by Mr. Haik Haroutunian, Minister of Internal Affairs for the Republic of Armenia.

During the meeting, Mr. Haroutunian informed His Holiness about the cooperation between the Ministries of the two countries. He expressed great satisfaction with the positive results of that collaboration.

His Holiness welcomed Major General Naumov, and reflected on the ties of friendship that have developed between the people of Armenia and Belarus. His Holiness accorded high importance to the work of both Ministers, as they are the guarantors of stability and law in their respective countries.

Interested in the history of the Armenian Church, Major General Naumov listened attentively as His Holiness responded to questions regarding the historical and present day circumstances of the Church, and the Mother See in particular. His Holiness reflected on the great opportunity standing before all of the former Soviet Republics to re-embrace their Christian faith, history and inheritance.

His Grace Bishop Navasard Ktchoyan, Vicar General of the Araratian Pontifical Diocese, accompanied the guests and attended the meeting.
