His Holiness Karekin II Receives Indian Ambassador 28.10.2002

On October 28, His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians received Mr. Deepak Vohra, the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of India to the Republic of Armenia.

His Holiness welcomed the inaugural visit of Ambassador Vohra to the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, and expressed assurance that the new ambassador would continue his work with the same care and dedication of his predecessor, benefiting the strengthening of ties between the two countries.

During their meeting, the Catholicos and the Ambassador reflected upon the centuries-old history of Armenian/Indian relations. His Holiness expressed happiness that the Armenian Humanitarian School of Calcutta continues in its vocation, educating nearly 100 young Armenian boys and girls. In his turn, Mr. Vohra informed His Holiness of the current economic links and cultural projects which are taking place between the two nations.

At the end of the meeting, His Holiness blessed the ambassador and wished him success in his mission in Armenia.
