His Holiness Karekin II Receives Boris Grizlov, Minister of the Interior for the Russian Federation
On March 22, His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, received Mr. Boris Grizlov, the Minister of the Interior for the Russian Federation, and his delegation. Mr. Hayk Haroutyunian, Minister of the Interior for the Republic of Armenia, escorted the guests.
In the course of the meeting the ministers acquainted His Holiness with the cooperation between the Ministries of the two countries. It was noted with satisfaction that the collaboration has been fruitful in its results.
His Holiness was pleased that the cooperation of the two Ministries in defending the rule of law, displays the friendship of the Armenian and Russian nations. His Holiness expressed confidence that relations will continue to develop in the spirit of fraternity and mutual benefit. As His Holiness noted, the same spirit is also felt in the Armenian Church, as Armenian Pontiffs for centuries, have contributed to the fostering of friendship between the two peoples.
His Grace Bishop Yeznik Petrossian, Secretary of the Inter-Church Relations department of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, and Mr. Anatoli Drukov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Armenia, attended the meeting.
