His Holiness Karekin II Defrocks Rev. Fr. Sedrak Aghasyan

His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, has issued a Pontifical Order whereby Rev. Fr. Sedrak Aghasyan, Spiritual servant of the Diocese of Masyatsotn, has been defrocked.
The mediation submitted by His Grace Bishop Gevork Saroyan, Primate of the Diocese of Masyatsotn and the conclusion of an investigation by the Disciplinary Committee of the Mother See; has served as the basis for the defrockment of Fr. Sedrak.
As of this day, the defrocked clergyman is a member of the laity and shall be known by his baptismal name of Hrant Aghasyan.
