His Holiness Karekin II Defrocks Rev. Fr. Archimandrite Sipan Gevorkian

His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, has issued a Pontifical Order whereby Rev. Fr. Archimandrite Sipan Gevorkian, member of the Brotherhood of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, has been defrocked for willfully deserting his spiritual service. As of this day, the defrocked clergyman is a member of the laity and shall be known by his baptismal name of Artur Gevorkian.
