His Holiness Karekin II Defrocked Rev. Fr. Aharon Shahverdian

His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, has issued a Pontifical Order whereby Rev. Fr. Aharon Shahverdian, a member of the Brotherhood of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, has been defrocked. The application submitted by Rev. Fr. Aharon Shahverdian has served as the basis for the defrockment.
As of this day, the defrocked clergymen is a member of the laity and shall be known by his
baptismal name of Artur Shahverdian.
