His Holiness Karekin II Conveyed his Blessings to Priests Granted the Rank of Archimandrite

On December 6, in the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians; received and conveyed his blessings to Rev. Fr. Andranik Gevorkian, member of the Brotherhood of the Mother See and Rev. Fr. Movses Sargsyan, Manager of the Armenian College and Philanthropic Academy in Calcutta.
On December 3, defending their doctrinal theses, Fr. Andranik and Fr. Movses received the rank of Archimandrite (Vardapet) by His Eminence Archbishop Nathan Hovhannisyan, in the St. Mesrop Mashtots Church of Oshakan .
At the beginning of the meeting, His Eminence Nathan presented His Holiness the newly ordained priests, expressing hope that the clergy of the Church will increase with more new young Archimandrites.
The Catholicos of All Armenians conveyed his blessings and gratitude to the two priests and congratulated them.
His Holiness emphasized the mission of the Archimandrites in the education and upbringing of the faithful according to the tradition of the fathers and in the spirit of the Gospel.
Speaking about the future spiritual service of the Archimandrites, His Holiness wished that the graces received during the granting of the Degree of Archimandrite will bear fruit.
His Holiness also expressed his appreciation to Archbishop Nathan and the members of the review commission.
At the conclusion, His Holiness granted them the Pectoral Cross and through the “Protector” prayer blessed the twp priests.
