Graduation Ceremonies of the Vazkenian Theological Seminary of Sevan
On July 9, the graduation and closing ceremonies were held for the 2001-2002 academic year of the Vazkenian Theological Seminary of Lake Sevan. Members of the Brotherhood of Holy Etchmiadzin, teachers, seminarians and guests attended the ceremony.
As the program began, Very Rev. Fr. Bagrat Galstanian, Dean of the Vazkenian Seminary, reported on the activities of the current academic year, and touched upon the educational, religious, cultural, and ecclesiastical life of the facility. He also spoke about future programs and projects of the seminary.
?It is my vision that the Vazkenian Theological Seminary and every religious educational institution is the Mount of Tabor. Reaching the peak of the mountain can only be realized by unceasing and endless work, everlasting desire and unshakeable faith. Each individual who undertakes the journey will finally deserve not only transfiguration, but also grace. Our mission is to prepare the flock entrusted to us for transfiguration. We may only live a fully rich life through our loyalty to God?s message, to the past, present and future of the Armenian Church, to the martyrs? sacrifice and to all those loving individuals who take care of us today.? said Fr. Bagrat.
The seminary had 50 students enrolled for study during the recent academic year. At the conclusion of the program, eight of the students were granted graduation diplomas upon their successful completion of the 5-year course of spiritual education.
During the ceremony, the seminarians presented a musical program, including songs and poetry. Past and present graduates of the seminary shared their own personal stories with the guests.
