Gevorkian Theological Seminary Accredited by the Republic of Armenia
As per the resolution of the Government of the Republic of Armenia, the Gevorkian Theological Seminary of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin has been recognized as an accredited institution of higher education.
On July 2, Mr. Manuk Topouzian, Chief of Staff to Prime Minister of Armenia Andranik Markarian, officially presented the above-mentioned resolution to His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, in the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin.
Receiving the resolution, His Holiness expressed his appreciation and gratitude to Mr. Topouzian, and asked that he relay the same to the governmental authorities of the Republic of Armenia for their recognition of the Armenian Church. His Holiness stated his assurance that the accreditation would assist to elevate further the Seminary?s level of instruction. The Catholicos also affirmed that it would give the seminarians new and better opportunities, enabling them to advance their spiritual education in other institutions of higher learning throughout Armenia and abroad.
Present during the presentation of the resolution was Archpriest Rev. Fr. Yeghishe Sargsian, Dean of the Seminary.
