Armenian Apostolic Holy Church The Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin

On August 13, the Armenian Apostolic Holy Church celebrated the Feast of the Assumption of the Holy Mother of God. On this festive Day, the Brotherhood of the Mother See attended the Divine Liturgy in the St. Gayane Monastery. The Celebrant was His Eminence Archbishop Vasken Mirzakhanyan, Director of the Ecclesiastical Conceptual Issues Office of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin.

Presenting the sacrament of the feast, the Celebrant particularly emphasized. "We celebrate the Assumption of the Holy Mother of God as another confirmation of the coming reality that we too will be resurrected and overcome death with the example of the Mother of God."

At the conclusion, Archbishop Vasken, once again offering a prayer to God, addressed to the attending faithful, stating in part: "Dear faithful, congratulating all of us on the occasion of the feast, I join your prayers and ask for the intercession of the Mother of God for our nation, Armenia and Artsakh, for the salvation of our army and our people."

Following the Divine Liturgy, under the presidency of His Grace Bishop Moushegh Babayan, Grand Sacristan of the Mother See; the Service for the Blessing of the Grapes was offered at the St. Trdat Open Air Altar of the Mother See. At the conclusion of the Service, the blessed grapes were distributed to the faithful.
