Farewell Meeting with the Ambassador of Japan 29.03.2021

On March 28, in the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians; received Mr. Jun Yamada, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to the Republic of Armenia, who was completing his diplomatic mission in Armenia. His Holiness expressed his gratitude to the Ambassador for his mission implemented in Armenia, highly appreciating his contribution to strengthen the cooperation between the two countries and the further ties between the two nations. In his speech, the Pontiff of All Armenians expressed confidence that the Ambassador will continue his further service with the same enthusiasm. In his turn, the Ambassador Mr. Yamada thanked His Holiness for the cooperation and support of Holy Etchmiadzin in strengthening the Armenian-Japanese cultural ties. The Ambassador spoke about the impressions of his years of service in Armenia, particularly about the Armenian culture and its uniqueness. At the meeting, reference was made to the military operations unleashed by Azerbaijan against the Republic of Artsakh, the catastrophic consequences of the war, the existing challenges, as well as, the response of the international community. In this regard, His Holiness expressed his gratitude for the support of Japan to Armenia, during these difficult days.
