Divine Liturgy of Episcopal Oath in the St. Gayane Monastery 20.05.2019

On May 19, the Feast of the Apparition of the Holy Cross, with the blessings of His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians; His Grace Bishop Serovbe Isakhanyan, Primate of the Armenian Diocese of Germany, celebrated his first Episcopal "Divine Liturgy of Oath" in the St. Gayane Monastery. During the Divine liturgy, Bishop Serovbe referred to the establishment and mystery of the feast.

“If we literally take a cross today on our shoulders, we should not forget that there is also a spiritual cross, that for a Christian, first of all, is the truth from his Christian faith, that we must carry to our shoulders and live true and straightforward, make our lifestyle a mirror of our Christian faith, both as individuals or as a society”, stated Bishop Serovbe, confirming that no one can claim that he is a Christian and loves God, but sows evil and hatred.

“Within the year, our Church has devoted four days to the cross and invites his faithful to bow down before the Cross and the Crucified, especially those days, such as today when we celebrate the Feast of the Apparition of the Holy Cross and refer to what the cross means for us. Does it have any significance for us, or it is a beautiful ornament or, at least, namely, our personal appearance as a Christian. And each of us need to find the answer to this question… That answer should not be in our lips, but it is hidden in our hearts and is seen in our lives and lifestyles, our attitude and behavior towards people”, stated the Bishop. His Grace Bishop Serovbe stressed that it is a sacred day for him as he celebrates his first Episcopal "Divine Liturgy of Oath". On this occasion, he conveyed his love and loyalty to His Holiness, then applying to the clergy and the faithful asked to remember him in their prayers.
