Divine Liturgy Celebrated in St. Gregory the Illuminator Cathedral of Yerevan

On Sunday, May 26, upon the invitation of His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, His Holiness Aram I, Catholicos of the Great House of Cilicia, celebrated Divine Liturgy in the Cathedral of St. Gregory the Illuminator in Yerevan. Catholicos Aram I was in Armenia to participate in the Second Armenia Diaspora Conference.

On the day prior to the conference, the Catholicos of All Armenians welcomed the participants of the Conference who had arrived to Armenia from various parts of the world. In his message, His Holiness Karekin II exhorted the attendees to undertake the work of supporting the Motherland with faith and unity.

Welcoming Catholicos Aram I, as well as religious, diplomatic and state officials attending the Liturgy, the Catholicos of All Armenians gave his blessing to the Armenia Diaspora Conference with the conviction that ?it will become an important rallying point in the national unity of Armenians, both those in the Motherland and those dispersed throughout the world, and lead them on the journey of a unified, harmonious life.?

In his turn, Catholicos Aram I, noted that the Armenian Church has always prayed and struggled for the freedom of Armenia.

During the Divine Liturgy, His Holiness Karekin II and His Holiness Aram I conducted a special Service of Blessing for the strength and stability of the Motherland.
