Conclusion of Visit of Head of Lutheran Church of Finland to the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin
On August 18, His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians and the Most Reverend Dr. Jukka Paarma, Archbishop of Turku and Finland, accompanied by the class of clergy, visited the Vazkenian Theological Seminary of Sevan. The seminarians greeted the spiritual leaders with the singing of the "Hrashapar" hymn.
His Holiness Karekin II told Most Reverend Dr. Jukka Paarma and his delegation the story of the Seminary's foundation and the seminarians' life spent there. The guests became acquainted with the centuries-old history of the Monastery of Sevan. The Seminarians presented a nice cultural program.
Following the solemn ceremony an evening service was held in the Church of Holy Apostles, of Sevan.
On August 19, His Holiness Karekin II and Most Reverend Dr. Jukka Paarma paid a visit to the Armenian Genocide Memorial Monument at Tsitsernakaberd, to pay tribute of respect to the innocent victims' memory. After placing floral wreaths a requiem service was held near the Monument, during which Most Reverend Dr. Jukka Paarma prayed God for the peace of the victims' souls. The two spiritual leaders also visited the Museum-Institute of the Armenian Genocide.
