Catholicos of All Armenians Receives Members of AGAU London Branch
On July 20, in the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians; received representatives of the Armenian General Athletic Union (AGAU) of London. They were accompanied by His Grace Bishop Hovakim Manookian, Primate of the Armenian Diocese of Great Britain and Ireland.
During the meeting, Bishop Hovakim informed His Holiness that through the efforts of benefactors Mr. and Mrs. Raffi and Alice Tanielian, and Mr and Mrs. Shahan and Eliza Tenjoukian; the sportsmen traveled to Armenia to participate in the 10th Pan-Armenian Homenetmen Games.
His Holiness, highlighting the importance of physical education in the life of the youth, noted with satisfaction that sport also gives Armenians from different countries an opportunity to unite in the Homeland and get acquainted with each other, as well as recognize their individual national identity and origins. On this occasion, the Catholicos of All Armenians expressed his gratitude to the benefactors, for their support provided to the youth education program.
At the conclusion, His Holiness talked to the teenagers and wished them success in the upcoming games.
