Catholicos of All Armenians Receives Delegation from the European Economic and Social Committee

On March 31, His Holiness Catholicos of All Armenians Garegin II welcomed a delegation led by Dimitris Dimitriadis, President of the External Relations Section of the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC), at the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin. Vassilis Maragos, the Head of the European Union Delegation to Armenia, accompanied the EESC delegation.
During the meeting, the Catholicos of All Armenians commended the EESC's efforts to promote economic stability, social justice, and the protection of human rights, particularly highlighting the urgent need for solutions to the challenges faced by forcibly displaced Armenians from Artsakh.
His Holiness also expressed concern over Armenia’s security challenges, the destruction and appropriation of Armenian spiritual and cultural heritage in Artsakh, and the continued detention of Armenian prisoners and hostages in Azerbaijan. He stressed the importance of sustained international efforts to prevent Azerbaijan's aggressive policies and restore regional peace.
For his part, Mr. Dimitris Dimitriadis, expressing his gratitude to His Holiness for the reception, discussed the Committee’s initiatives and the potential for strengthening economic and social dialogue with Armenia.
