Catholicos of All Armenians Receives Delegation from A. Gemelli Fund of the Catholic University

On February 20, in the Mother See, His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians; received delegation from the A. Gemelli Fund of the Catholic University of Sacred Heart, Rome Italy. They were accompanied by Deputy Khosrov Harutyunyan, of the Armenian National Assembly.
His Holiness welcomed the visit of Professor Rocco Bellantone, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery of the University; Dr. Enrico Zampedri, General Director of Agostino Gemelli’s General Hospital; and Ambassador Paolo Dionisi, International Issues Consultant to the President of the A. Gemelli Fund. The Catholicos of All Armenians expressed his pleasure for the cooperation established between the A. Gemelli Fund and the Armenian healthcare sector, and wished success to the upcoming joint programs.
During the meeting, His Holiness presented the guests with the history of the founding and mission of the Mother See, in the life of the Armenian people. His Holiness reflected on the warm ties and relations between the Armenian Church and the Christian Sister Churches throughout the depths of history, and also today, noting that the vivid testimony of positive results are the visits of the religious leaders to the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin on different occasions.
The delegation members expressed gratitude for the hospitality, and spoke about the cooperative programs and the results of their visits to Armenia, especially about the retraining and exchange of doctors. Reflecting on their visit to Izmirlian Medical Center, the fund representatives conveyed their impressions to His Holiness, stressing the importance of the Church service in the healthcare sector.
During the meeting, His Holiness also presented the future projects of the Mother See in the healthcare sector, for the welfare of the nation.
