Catholicos of All Armenians Received Young Pilgrims of the Araratian Pontifical Diocese
On December 21, in the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, His Holiness Karekin II, Catholicos of All Armenians; received members of the “Navasard” youth union operating under the auspices of the St. Sarkis church of Nor Norq; and pupils of different grades from the school N 135 named after Artsakh war hero Gagik Stepanyan. They were led by Rev. fr. Norayr Baghdasarya, visiting priest of the St. Sarkis church.
After the remarks of Rev. Fr. Norayr and Mr. Karekin Nersisyan on the important mission of the Armenian Church in the preservation of the national values and the development of the educational sphere, His Holiness expressed His joy for such initiative conveying His Blessings and best wishes to those presents.
The Armenian Pontiff considered the pilgrimage to the Mother See to be important, which enables them to communicate with their past and the glorious pages of history, experience the breath of God, and renew their faith.
His Holiness affirmed that in Holy Holy Etchmiadzin, the Armenian people make a covenant of faithfulness with God resisting with the various trials and tribulations of life, as well as conquer death by Christ's example and create spiritual and cultural masterpieces with unshakable faith and love towards Him.
Catholicos of All Armenians stressed that the Holy Fathers have offered their best deeds to God through the Church, which is a vivid testimony of their powerful faith in God.
For His Holiness, the Armenian people, due to their powerful faith and godly course, have gained respect and reverence among other nations, becoming an example for many nations as well.
His Holiness Karekin II Hoped that the pilgrims will be the owners of this powerful and beautiful heritage, enriching it with new valuable deeds.
His Holiness also exhorted the schoolchildren to learn their history best. “You are the driving force of our lives and the Armenian people. You are our future”,- stated the Armenian Pontiff once again conveyin His Blessings and best wishes to all young pilgrims on the occasion of New Year.
During the meeting, the pupils offered a pleasant surprise for the Catholicos of All Armenians with their recitation and folk songs performances.
