Catholicos of All Armenians Received the Deputies of the Armenian National Assembly

On February 25, in the Pontifical Residence of the Mother See, His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians; hosted a group of deputies of the “My Step” faction of the National Assembly of Armenia. During the meeting, the head of the “My Step” faction Ms. Lilit Makunts introduced all deputies to His Holiness expressing hope that such visits will be continuous.
During the conversation, the Catholicos of All Armenians, welcoming the initiative, also emphasized the importance of such kind of meetings between the Armenian legislative body and the clergy, assuring that they will have their effective impact on their mutual recognition. His Holiness stressed that such kind of meetings and conversations will definitely serve for the benefit of our people and country.
The Pontiff of All Armenians reflected on the important mission of the deputies and the great responsibility on their shoulders to contribute to the overcoming of the challenges the Motherland faces and the regulation of the citizens’ life.
Asking God’s assistance to the significant commitment of NA deputies, the Pontiff of All Armenians stated that the vision and the plans of the Armenian clergy are also aimed at the state-building process and Homeland strengthening.
In this regard, the Catholicos of All Armenians emphasized, that the members of the legislative body and the clergymen have the same spirit of zeal and are guided by the same consciousness to see the native country strong, the lives of the people prosperous.
During the meeting there was a discussion on various issues concerning the native life of the Motherland, the mission of the Armenian Church and activities in the pastoral, educational and social spheres.
A Special importance was given to the fostering of the Church-State relationships and the spiritual service of the clergymen in the RA Armed Forces.
