Catholicos of All Armenians Received the "Bright Armenia"  Party’s Parliamentary Faction 16.12.2018

On December 16, in the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians; received members of the "Bright Armenia" party’s Parliamentary faction.

At the meeting, Mr. Edmon Marukyan, leader of the party, presented His Holiness the members of the "Bright Armenia" Party in the 7th convocation of the Parliament. He also reflected to the political views of the party and traditional Christian values, noting that there are a lot of work to do ahead and in this sense, a great responsibility rests on the shoulders of the newly elected National Assembly. Mr. Marukyan highlighted the Pontiff's blessings for this mission, stressing that an important part of the party’s activity should be allocated to the issues of the preservation of the rich Christian heritage both in Armenia and outside its borders.

Then, His Holiness Karekin II welcomed and conveyed his blessings to the members of the "Bright Armenia" party. His Holiness congratulated the parliamentarians for the gained confidence vote, which will enable them to implement all their programs with legislative activities, to establish the Armenian statehood on solid foundations and to promote a strong and secure homeland.

For overcoming the challenges, difficulties and problems facing the country, the Armenian Pontiff, noticed the communication with the past and highlighted the national heritage's recognition and connection with the history. His Holiness expressed confidence that the law-making activity will be based on the deposits and the value system that has given our people strength for centuries to win, to overcome the trials of the centuries and survive all the tragic moments of the history.

His Holiness also answered to questions which related to the challenges of the church life, preservation of the spiritual heritage and Church-state relations.

His Holiness emphasized that the Armenian Church as throughout history and so today will continue to support the native statehood, in order our people's vision of having a bright Homeland be implemented through devoted and patriotic service.
