Catholicos of All Armenians Received the 12 newly Ordained Priests
On February 2, following the Evening Service, His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians; received the newly ordained priests: Rev. Fr. Vazgen Petrosyan; Rev. Fr. Geghard Hovhannisyan; Rev. Fr. Makar Galamdaryan; Rev. Fr. Aris Khachatryan; Rev. Fr. Sevak Saribekyan; Rev. Fr. Hrachya Gyozalyan; Rev. Fr. Vagharsh Isakhanyan; Rev. Fr. Grigoris Dermenjyan; Rev. Fr. Zareh Ashuryan; Rev. Fr. Sedrak Aghasyan; Rev. Fr. Artsrun Mikaelyan and Rev. Fr. Ghukas Balayan. They were accompanied by His Grace Bishop Hovnan Hakobyan, Grand Sacristan of the Mother See and His Grace Bishop Mkrtich Proshyan, Primate of the Diocese of Aragatsotn.
Bishop Hovnan presented the newly ordained priests to His Holiness and asked for the blessings and message of the Armenian Patriarch, so that they can properly prepare for their
40-day period of seclusion.
His Holiness congratulated the new clergymen and expressed joy that twelve servants have been added to the clergy ranks.
His Holiness stressed that there is a great need for priests, therefore the newly ordained
must take a heavy but sweet burden on their shoulders; to serve the nation, and strengthen the faith of Armenians, to abound in optimism and love in their spirits.
“We believe that you will offer yourself for the sake of the vibrancy of our Holy Church, its good name and reputation. We are confident that you will be loved clergymen, wherever you serve because of your dedication and zeal, and your soul will be rewarded with love and appreciation”, said the Catholicos of All Armenians.
His Holiness expressed his wish that the clergymen be a kind example and hearten the faithful with their noble service. Asking for God’s blessings on the newly ordained, His Holiness urged that they permanently live and act in faith, which will provide hope, light and love for the Armenian sons and daughters.
