Catholicos of All Armenians Received Students of the “Eornekian” Public School 16.05.2019

On May 16, His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians; received four students from the 10th and 11th grade of the “Eornekian” Public School, acting under the auspices of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin. They were accompanied by Very Rev. Fr. Zakaria Baghumyan, Dean of the school and Director of the Christian Education Center of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, and Mrs. Susanna Vardanyan, Director of the school.

Fr. Zakaria expressed gratitude to the Catholicos of All Armenians for the constant attention and paternal care towards the educational institution and informed that within the framework of the Year of Family proclaimed by the Catholicos of All Armenians, on May 15, the International Family Day, an event was organized for parents at the school, aiming to draw their attention to family values, as well as the students visited the family members of the soldier who died during the four-day April war and organized an event for the children of the "Kurkchyan" care center.

Catholicos Karekin II conveyed his blessings to the students and stressed the importance of sowing family and spiritual-moral values among schoolchildren and the youth, encouraging them to exert every effort to become a good person and Christian. His Holiness noted that during centuries the family has been perceived as a small paradise and a sanctuary for the Armenians and at that time achievements have been recorded in various fields. Speaking about contemporary challenges and phenomena that undermine the Christian family's value system, His Holiness considered important the upbringing of the society with strong family and moral values. During the meeting, His Holiness Karekin II was interested in the students' academic process, preferences and conditions at school. At the conclusion, the Catholicos of All Armenians conveyed his blessings to the students, presented them gifts in appreciation of their success in learning.
