Catholicos of All Armenians Received Students from France
On April 27, in the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians; received 45 students of the Paris ‘National’ and Marseille Colleges, accompanied by Mr. Sarkis Bedoian, a benefactor of the Mother See and Director of educational institutions.
During the meeting, Mr. Bedoian presented the students, and then spoke about the current imperatives of preserving the Armenian identity in the Diaspora, sharing also the indisputable impressions of the students with the Armenian Pontiff Conveying his blessings to the students, His Holiness noted with satisfaction how pleasant it was to see the students of French national educational institutions return every year to Armenia, specifically to participate in the April 24 march to the Tsitsernakaberd memorial, to offer their humility and respect to the memory of the canonized martyrs of the Armenian Genocide.
In his remarks, the Armenian Pontiff referred to recent events taking place in the country, as well as the efforts of the Armenian Church addressed at solidarity and peace, restoration of tolerance and an atmosphere of love.
His Holiness Karekin II also conveyed his gratitude to the parents of the students for the zeal and consistency that they show for the Armenian education of their children, so that they are worthy descendants of their ancestors.
At the conclusion, the students offered a pleasant surprise for the Catholicos of All Armenians with their recitation and performance of the Armenian national anthem.
