Catholicos of All Armenians Received Pilgrims of the Armenian Diocese of Georgia 14.06.2019

On June 13, in the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians; received pilgrims of the Armenian Diocese of Georgia. They were accompanied by Rev. Fr. Housik Harutyunyan, Spiritual Pastor of St. Gevork Church in Tbilisi.

Rev. Fr. Housik Harutyunyan informed His Holiness that the purpose of the pilgrimage of the Georgian Armenians is  to communicate with the sacredness and to receive blessing from the Catholicos of All Armenians.

His Holiness conveyed his blessings to the pilgrims, welcoming the Armenian faithful of the Diocese for the initiative to guide them to the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin. His Holiness highlighted the visits of the Armenians living far from their Homeland to Armenia and becoming a part of the historical sanctuaries, people's lifestyle, concerns and accomplishments, in order to return to their homes charged and strengthened.

The Catholicos of All Armenians stated that he has been in Georgia for several times on a Pontifical visit and witnessed the strong faith of the Georgian Armenians, thanks to which they have managed to maintain and keep their national, spiritual and cultural life alive. His Holiness urged the pilgrims not to yield to the difficulties, but with the strong faith of their ancestors, to continue to create for the brightness of the Armenian life and the Armenian Diocese Georgia.

During the meeting, His Holiness also expressed his appreciation to the clergy of the Armenian Diocese of Georgia, to carry out their mission with zeal and devotion and to preserve the national values.

At the conclusion, His Holiness wished the pilgrims that the Almighty God renew their covenant, keeping permanently in His love and peace.
