Catholicos of All Armenians Received Pilgrims from Australia
On June 17, in the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians; received pilgrims from the Armenian Diocese of Australia and New Zealand. They were led by Rev. Fr. Khacher Harutyunyan, Spiritual Pastor of Holy
Mother of God Church in Melbourne.
Fr. Khacher informed His Holiness that before arriving in Armenia, the Australian Armenians visited Jerusale m and now they want to communicate with the sanctuaries of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin and to receive the Patriarchal blessing of the Catholicos of All Armenians. The pilgrims also presented their impressions of the visit.
His Holiness conveyed his blessings to the youth and referred to his pontifical visit to Australia at the beginning of the year. His Holiness noted with satisfaction the consolidation of Melbourne's Armenian community over their spiritual pastor, noting that being a loved clergyman is the guarantee of the community's brightness and preservation of the Armenian identity.
During the meeting, the Catholicos of All Armenians highlighted the involvement of youth in the community life and the implementation of a variety of programs aimed at it.
His Holiness stated that this trip should strengthen the Armenian people in their faith, to continue their national mission with zeal and be a good example for their children.
At the conclusion, His Holiness wished the pilgrims that God renew their covenant, constantly keeping them in His love and care.
