Catholicos of All Armenians Received Newly Appointed Governor of Tavoush

On March 19, in the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians; received Mr. Hayk Chobanyan, newly appointed Governor of Tavoush. He was accompanied by His Grace Bishop Bagrat Galstanyan, Primate of the Diocese of Tavoush.
During the meeting, the Catholicos of All Armenians congratulated the Governor on his appointment and wished him success in his mission. Getting to know the thoughts and plans of the Governor regarding the development and progress of the region, His Holiness expressed confidence that he will be able to implement and justify the expectations of the population of the Tavoush region. His Holiness also spoke about the involvement of the Tavoush Diocese in the mentioned programs.
In turn, the Governor expressed his gratitude to His Holiness for the meeting and Patriarchal blessing. Mr. Hayk Chobanyan highlighted the close cooperation with the Diocese of Tavoush in the activation and development of the life of the region.
During the meeting they referred to the issue of returning Karen Ghazaryan to Homeland, who was captured from the village Berdvan of the Tavush region and imprisoned in Azerbaijan. His Holiness is convinced that these efforts need to be multiplied with the involvement of international organizations.
At the conclusion, His Holiness wished the Governor the Almighty God’s support for the sake of the dignified life of the people of Tavoush.
