Catholicos of All Armenians Received Newly Appointed Brazilian Ambassador 12.03.2018

On March 12, in the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians; received Mr. Mendonsa Sanktos, newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Brazil to the Republic of Armenia and his wife Ms. Simone Hagenauer Rogatti Sanktos.

On the occasion of the appointment, the Armenian Pontiff congratulated Ambassador Sanktos, wishing him a successful mission in Armenia. In his remarks, His Holiness emphasized the strengthening of Armenian-Brazilian ties and further promotion of cooperation. The Catholicos of All Armenians noted with satisfaction the close ties between the Brazilian Embassy and the Mother See.

The Armenian Patriarch recalled his pontifical visit to Brazil, noting that he was impressed with the strong faith of the Brazilian people. Catholicos Karekin II also noted with joy that the Armenians of Brazil, as an established community, make significant contributions to the progress of the country.

Ambassador Sanktos presented to His Holiness his upcoming plans for making Armenia more identifiable in Brazil. During the conversation, the Ambassador highlighted the implementation of measures aimed at strengthening the Armenian-Brazilian cultural and economic ties and explained the spiritual life of the Brazilian people.

The meeting was attended by His Eminence Archbishop Nathan Hovhannisyan, Director of the External Relations and Protocol Department of Mother See.
