Catholicos of All Armenians Received Mayor of Belgorod-Dnestrovski
On March 28, in the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians; received Ms. Alla Ginac, Mayor of Belgorod-Dnestrovski, Ukraine, and her delegation. They were accompanied by Mr. Karen Grigoryan, Mayor of Vagharshapat.
At the beginning of the meeting, Mayor Grigoryan presented to His Holiness the delegation from Ukraine and spoke on the possibility of cooperation between the two cities.
His Holiness noted that the relations between the two nations come from the depths of centuries and are characterized by warm friendship. His Holiness Karekin II stressed the importance of cooperation between the city of Etchmiadzin and Belgorod-Dnestrovski in various fields, noting that it will contribute to the further strengthening and development of relations of the good traditions between the two countries.
His Holiness referred to the Armenian community formed in Belgorod-Dnestrovski, also noting with satisfaction that the Armenian community of Ukraine is loved and respected in the country.
Mayor Ginac emphasized the blessings of His Holiness on the newly-formed cooperation between the cities, informing him about the forthcoming programs to be implemented in that framework, especially the events and mutual visits aimed at the education of the younger generation. Mayor Ginac also spoke about the Armenian community's active participation in the life of the city, as well as conveyed information about the process of reconstruction of the Holy Mother of God Church.
The meeting was attended by His Eminence Archbishop Nathan Hovhannisyan, Director of the External Relations and Protocol Department of the Mother See; Mr. Hayk Gulyan, Consul General of Armenia to Odessa and philanthropist Felix Petrosyan from Ukraine.
