Catholicos of All Armenians Received Delegation of the Departmental Council of Bouches-du-Rhône 29.05.2019

On May 29, in the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians; received the Delegation of President of the Departmental Council of Bouches-du-Rhone Ms. Martine Vassal. They were accompanied by Mr. Robert Azilazyan, Chairman of the Diocesan Council of the Armenian Diocese of France and President of the French (Marseill es) Office of the French-Armenian Benevolent Non-Governmental Organization "Altitude 5165". The meeting was also attended by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the French Republic to the Republic of Armenia Mr. Jonathan Lacôte.

The Delegation arrived to Armenia to attend the events dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the French Armenian Benevolent NGO "Altitude 5165". With the support of Mr. Jonathan Lacôte, a charity dental clinic operates in the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin for needy persons and children of Echmiadzin and adjacent districts.

During the meeting, the Catholicos of All Armenians referred to the close cooperation between the Departmental Council of Bouches-du-Rhone and RA state structures. His Holiness gladly confirmed that the charitable projects implemented by the organization "Altitude 5165" contribute to the further strengthening of Armenian-French friendly relations, expressing his appreciation to Ms. Vassal on that occasion, and due to her honest efforts, the French-Armenian humanitarian organization continues its useful service to Armenian people.

His Holiness Karekin II, conveyed his appreciation to Mr. Robert Azilazian for his efforts in the development and strengthening of the life of the French-Armenian community and the various social programs implemented in Armenia.

In turn, Ms. Martine Vassal recalled her last visit to Armenia in 2016, for the development and strengthening of social, economic and cultural relations between the two countries, then reflected on the agenda of her regular visit to Armenia, particularly the prevention program for schoolchildren on different healthcare spheres.

The Catholicos of All Armenians welcomed the initiative and expressed hope that it will contribute to the healthy growth of the young people. At the conclusion, His Holiness wished the Delegation of the Departmental Council of Bouches-du-Rhone a fruitful activity.
