Catholicos of All Armenians Received Chess-player Levon Aronian

On October 7, in the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians; received Mr. Levon Aronian, international chess grandmaster and twice world cup champion; and his wife Ms. Arianne Caoili.
Congratulating the talented chess-player, the Catholicos of All Armenians stressed that his latest victory was a great joy for everyone, adding glory and honor to the Armenian nation and homeland. His Holiness stated that such achievements are inspirational for children interested in chess who aspire to be like Aronian.
The Catholicos of All Armenians also expressed his congratulations to the newly wedded couple, expressing his wish that God be beside them and grant permanent success in their personal life and in the field of chess.
Mr. Aronian, expressed his gratitude for the praise from the Pontiff, and conveyed to His Holiness information on upcoming competitions. Speaking about his achieved successes, the grand master stated that people's love and respect should be retained through his victories.
