Catholicos of All Armenians Received Bishop of the Evangelical-Lutheran Church of Georgia and South Caucasus
On December 11, in the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armeninas; received Bishop Marcus Shokh of the Evangelical-Lutheran Church of Georgia and South Caucasus.
His Holiness welcomed Bishop Shokh, wishing him productive mission in the new position. His Holiness reflected on the existing ties and collaboration between the Armenian Apostolic and Evangelical Churches in Ecumenical organizations and within the framework of various social and educational programs.
The Catholicos of All Armenians also expressed satisfaction on the occasion of the cooperation between the Georgian-Armenian Diocese and Evangelical-Lutheran Church.
During the meeting, Bishop Shokh expressed gratitude for the reception and mentioned that he was visiting Armenia for the first time, but during the years of his study in Jerusalem he had an opportunity to get acquainted with the sacred heritage of the Armenian Church and history of the Armenian people. The Primate of the Evangelical-Lutheran Church conveyed His Holiness information about his mission in the region.
The meeting was attended by Very Rev. Fr. Shahe Ananyan, Director of the Ecumenical Relations Department of Mother See.
