Catholicos of All Armenians Received Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to the Republic of Armenia

On March 18, in the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians; received Mohammed Al Zawi, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Arab Emirates to the Republic of Armenia.
Congratulating the Ambassador on his recent appointment, His Holiness wished a productive activity for the benefit of the Armenian-Arabian cooperation.
During the meeting, His Holiness stressed that the Armenian-Arabian relations have a century-old history, recording with gratitude the fact that after the Armenian Genocide many Armenians found shelter in Arab countries. The Catholicos of All Armenians reflected with gratitude on the current cooperation between the two countries.
Expressing joy on the occasion of the meeting, Ambassador Mohammed Al Zawi spoke about his plans. He also informed the Catholicos of All Armenians that the United Arab Emirates have declared 2019 as Year of Tolerance in the country.
On this occasion His Holiness and the Ambassador referred to the importance of establishing a spirit of tolerance between the states and people as a guarantee of peaceful coexistence. Programs implemented in this direction were highlighted.
