Catholicos of All Armenians Met the M. Heratsi Medical Students and Soldiers
On April 10, in the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians; received students from the Yerevan M. Heratsi Medical University, and Heratsi High School, as well as soldiers who have been wounded during military operations. They were accompanied by Mr. Armen Mouradian, Rector of the Heratsi Medical University.
During the meeting, the Rector Mouradian expressed gratitude to His Holiness for the reception. Mr. Mouradian presented His Holiness the soldiers who received various degrees of wounds during the military operations, whose deeds are an example of humanity and patriotism for their fellow students and future doctors. In this regard he also noted with gratitude the assistance provided to the homeland defenders in the Izmirlian Medical Center.
His Holiness conveyed his blessings to everyone. On behalf of all Armenians, the Catholicos of All Armenians expressed his appreciation and tribute to them for their courage shown and selflessness. His Holiness stressed that each time he visits the frontline, he sees spiritually transformed brave Armenians who have a special sense of responsibility.
Addressing the students, the Catholicos of All Armenians urged them to appreciate the deeds of the Armenian soldiers, and added that the homeland’s peace depends on everyone’s devoted service and the boundary begins from the workplace. His Holiness stressed the importance of every Armenian son bringing his service to his homeland with this consciousness, and contributing to the country's progress, prosperity and peaceful life of the people.
The Catholicos of All Armenians also referred to the role of the Armenian clergy in the Armenian Army; and spiritual assistance provided to soldiers during military operations.
During the meeting, His Holiness answered the students' questions concerning the understanding of faith in the doctor's service, preaching in the Armenian Church, Christian Education, and current challenges facing the Church.
The Armenian Pontiff gifted everyone the St. Gregory of Narek Prayer Books, and the soldiers presented His Holiness with an icon made by soldiers serving on the border.
At the conclusion, His Holiness blessed the attendees through the “Protector” prayer and wished a speedy recovery to the soldiers.
