Catholicos of All Armenians Met Schoolchildren of the Sunday School of the Diocese of Armavir

On June 14, His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians; met about 240 pupils of Sunday schools of the Diocese, who came to the Mother See for a pilgrimage. They were accompanied by His Eminence Archbishop Sion Adamyan, Primate of the Diocese of Armavir.
Asking the blessings of His Holiness, Archbishop Sion stated that the pupils of the Sunday schools o perating in different parts of the Armavir Diocese, visited the Mother See to express their love, respect and loyalty to the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin and the Armenian Pontiff.
Then, on the occasion of the initiative, His Holiness Karekin II expressed his joy conveying his love and blessings to the children, teenagers and teachers.
His Holiness Karekin II urged the Sunday Scool children to grow in God's love, become worthy children of the nation and live through God's commandments. “Being under the auspices of the Church means to be both a patriotic and a God-loving person. These two concepts are closely interconnected. These are the conceptions of our history, which have become one whole. … Patriotism means to love the nation-generated culture, the path of the nation, its struggles, its entire value system, and in our case all that is mixed with the Christian faith and sense of godliness”, stated His Holiness.
On this occasion, His Holiness expressed his appreciation to the Diocesan Primate and spiritual servants of the Diocese for keeping the activities of Sunday schools in the center of attention and for showing care towards the pupils.
At the conclusion, the Catholicos of All Armenians gave presents to the little pilgrims.
