On October 11, His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians; met 18 students of the incoming first level seminarians of the Gevorkian Theological Seminary.

Rev. Fr. Garegin Hambardzumyan, Dean of the Seminary, presenting the students entering the spiritual institution this year, noted that the annual meeting with the Catholicos of All Armenians as the first audience of the Seminary, has become a beautiful tradition. Father Garegin noted that such meetings inspire the young people and makes them more enthusiastic in their learning.

The Catholicos of All Armenians conveyed his Pontifical blessings to the youth. His Holiness urged the students to use the years of their study to store knowledge and prepare for their spiritual mission.

His Holiness stressed that spiritual service is one of the best ways to loyally serve the nation, Church, and Homeland.

Catholicos Karekin II reflected on the image of clergy, urging the students to follow the example of the luminous teachers of our Savior and the Armenian Church, and with zeal and dedication serve for the glory of the Armenian Church and consolation of the faithful. His Holiness added that the clergy may be worthy of people’s respect and love only through his displayed humility, dedication, and self-sacrificing spirit in their pastoral life.

In the end, the Pontiff of All Armenians blessed the students with the "Protector" prayer, wishing them successful study under the arches of the spiritual institution.

On the occasion of the meeting, the Armenian Pontiff gave the future clergymen New Testaments.
