Catholicos of All Armenians Hosted the Soldiers Who will Receive Treatment in Austria
On April 16, in the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians; hosted five soldiers injured in the second War of Artsakh, who, through the initiative and with the support of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin and the Pontifical Delegation of Central Europe, will leave for Austria in the coming days, to receive the further necessary treatment and limb prosthetics. In the first phase of the program, five servicemen will receive treatment.
The meeting began with the Lord's Prayer, following which MD, PhD, Professor Armen Charchyan, Director of the Izmirlian Medical Center, introduced the soldiers leaving for treatment to His Holiness, informing that everything has been done to save the lives of the homeland defenders in different medical institutions of Armenia. Mr. Charchyan also confirmed that the wounded Armenian sons need additional treatment so that their recovery will be more effective and complete. In this regard, Dr. Charchyan expressed his gratitude to the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin and the Pontifical Delegation of Central Europe, to organize the further treatment of the Armenian sons in the best medical institutions of Vienna with the efforts of the Armenian community and the support of the inter-church structures.
Conveying His Pontifical Blessings to the brave servicemen, the Pontiff of All Armenians expressed his appreciation for their devoted service to the Fatherland and the heroic spirit displayed during the war. His Holiness stated that every Armenian child is grateful and appreciates their selfless sacrifices for the love of the Homeland. The Catholicos of All Armenians also confirmed, that over the years, the Armenian Church has provided its support to the previously wounded homeland defenders, trying to help them restore their normal lives.
At the meeting, His Holiness informed that the Mother See, with its dioceses and communities around the world, will put every effort to continue to organize the medical treatment of the wounded servicemen in foreign medical institutions. His Holiness wished that the additional treatment help the Armenian sons to overcome the current problems, to recover and return to their service to the nation and Homeland.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the Catholicos of All Armenians blessed the soldiers with the “Protector’s” Prayer, whishing them a quick recovery and return to the Fatherland.
