Catholicos of All Armenians Hosted Newly Ordained Priests
On January 11, His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians; hosted the eleven Priests, who were ordained on November 21, in 2021; in the St. Gregory the Illuminator Mother Cathedral of Yerevan; and completed their traditional 40-day seclusion period of fasting in the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin. They were led by His Grace Bishop Moushegh Babayan, Grand Sacristan of the Mother See.
His Holiness, conveying his Blessings and best wishes to the newly ordained Priests, congratulated them on their ordination to the priesthood.
Reflecting on the importance of the pastoral service, the Pontiff of All Armenians stated, that the mission of a clergyman is characterized by sacrifice, obedient spirit and high consciousness of being faithful to his calling. The Armenian Pontiff affirmed that the newly ordained Priests will face many difficulties and challenges in their pastoral service, but with their strong faith in God, they must overcome those difficulties wisely and patiently, making the spiritual service of the Mother Church prosperous.
His Holiness urged the Priests to be strong in their calling, not to be depressed, and continue to serve the faithful with hope, faith and selfless devotion.
At the conclusion of the meeting, His Holiness blessed the newly ordained Priests with the “Protector” Prayer, and gifted to each of them a hand cross, a communion holder, and "Mashtots” Liturgical breviary.
