Catholicos of All Armenians Hosted Newly Ordained Priests
On August 28, His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians; hosted the three newly ordained priests who have received the degree of priesthood on July 16 and who completed their traditional 40-day seclusion period of fasting in the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin. They were accompanied by His Grace Bishop Moushegh Babayan, Grand Sacristan of the Mother See and His Grace Bishop Vahan Hovhannisyan, Director of the Mother See "Garegin I" educational center.
His Grace Bishop Vahan Hovhannisyan, introducing the newly ordainded priests to His Holiness the Patriarch: Rev. Fr. Petros Kadeyan; Rev. Fr. Movses Sahakyan and Rev. Fr. Hakobos Isahakyan, emphasized with joy that the priests are ready to bring their dedicated service to the Armenian Church.
Afterwards, the Catholicos of All Armenians conveyed his blessings to the priests on the occasion of being called to pastoral service, conveying his paternal message and blessings to them.
His Holiness Karekin II emphasized that the newly ordained priests begin their spiritual service in a difficult period for the Armenian people, when the complete and dedicated service of the Armenian clergy is most important, to inspire faith and hope in Armenians going through these difficult trials, to strengthen their faith and love towards God.
The Catholicos of All Armenians commanded the clergy to be a good example for the faithful, to grant joy and comfort to the believing people with dedicated and committed service, to use their abilities to the best in their spiritual service, to uphold the good reputation of the Armenian Apostolic Holy Church.
At the conclusion of the meeting, His Holiness blessed the newly ordained Priests with the “Protector” Prayer, and gifted to each of them a hand cross, a communion holder, and "Mashtots” Liturgical breviary.
In the upcoming days, with the blessings of His Holiness, the newly ordained priests will be called to serve in various structures and dioceses of the Armenian Church.
