Catholicos of All Armenians Hosted Newly Ordained Priests
On July 29, in the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians; received the newly ordained seven priests, who completed their traditional 40-day seclusion period of fasting.
The acting Grand Sacristan of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, Rev. Fr. Archimandrite Harutyun Kirakosyan, assured His Holiness that the churchmen, having passed the forty-day preparation period, are ready to bring their dedicated service to the Armenian Church.
His Holiness, conveying his paternal blessings and best wishes to the newly ordained priests, urged them to be honest, brave and dedicated pastors, to show their unfailing love and constant paternal care towards the faithful.
The Catholicos of All Armenians expressed hope that the clergy will contribute to overcoming the challenges facing the Motherland with their uncompromising and selfless service and commanded the newly ordained to carry out their soul-saving mission with a great sense of responsibility, to establish and strengthen the love of the Church and the Motherland among Armenians according to the Gospel and the messages of the holy fathers.
At the conclusion of the meeting, His Holiness blessed the newly ordained Priests with the “Protector” Prayer, and gifted to each of them a hand cross and a communion holder.
