Catholicos of All Armenians Hosted Newly Ordained Priests
On February 5, His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians; hosted the eleven newly ordained priests who have received the degree of priesthood the previous day in the St. Gregory the Illuminator Mother Church in Yerevan. They were accompanied by His Grace Bishop Moushegh Babayan, Grand Sacristan of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin and His Grace Bishop Oshaka Gyulgyulyan, Primate of the Armenian Diocese of Iraq.
The Celebrant asked for the blessings of His Holiness, expressed his gratitude for being given the honor of priestly ordination.
On behalf of the newly-consecrated clergymen, Rev. Fr. Komitas Ghevondyan, assuring that they will make every effort to bring their dedicated service to the Armenian Church.
Afterwards, the Catholicos of All Armenians conveyed his blessings to the priests on the occasion of being called to pastoral service, conveying his paternal message and blessings to them.
His Holiness Karekin II urged the newly ordained churchmen to devote themselves to their mission with a high awareness of their spiritual vocation and love, further increasing the good reputation and authority of the Armenian Church.
Emphasizing that Armenia and the Armenian people are living in a difficult period, the Armenian Patriarch told the newly ordained to make their spiritual ministry fruitful with spiritual and educational activities, to establish and strengthen the love of Armenians for the Armenian Church and the Motherland according to the Gospel and the commandements of the holy fathers.
The Catholicos of All Armenians expressed confidence that the priests, with their strong faith, dedicated and unconditional service will be able to make the dreams and visions of the children of the Armenian people come true.
At the meeting, His Holiness expressed his appreciation to the Celebrant, as well as to the spiritual educational institutions of the Mother See and the department of the Grand sacristan for the efforts invested in the preparation and ordination of the clergy.
At the conclusion of the meeting, His Holiness blessed the newly ordained Priests with the "Protector" Prayer, and gifted each of them a "Mashtots" Liturgical breviary.
