Catholicos of All Armenians Congratulates "Armenian EyeCare Project" on 25th Anniversary
On July 23, in the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians; received the principals of the Armenian Eye Care Project, ophthalmologists of the program, and benefactors.
Mrs. Nune Yeghiazaryan, in-country director of the Armenia office, presented to His Holiness the history of the project and the activities over the past twenty-five years, and spoke about the opening of a regional ophthalmologic center in Kapan.
The founder-chairman Dr. Roger Ohanesian, reflected on the foundation’s mission, and with gratitude recalled all the doctors and individual benefactors who have participated in the project. He also stressed that the project has been successfully implemented due to the blessings of the Armenian Church and that it has always cooperated with the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin.
His Holiness Karekin II congratulated and conveyed his blessings to the participants.
His Holiness confirmed that since the first day of the project, he was well informed of the Foundation's activities, which with the dedicated efforts of Dr. Ohanesian, has helped children who are visually impaired, starting during the most difficult times for the homeland until today, reaching the most remote areas of the nation.
Highly praising the project aimed at health and eye care of the citizens and, particularly the socially vulnerable, His Holiness expressed his appreciation to the Fund executives, Dr. Roger Ohanesian, Mrs. Nune Yeghiazaryan, as well as all those philanthropists and ophthalmologists who are part of the sacred and blessed service.
At the conclusion, the Catholicos of All Armenians wished the organization and all the new projects undertaken by the Armenian Eye Care Project productive results and success.
