Catholicos of All Armenians Attends the Year End Annual Meeting of the WCC Round Table Charitable Foundation 11.12.2019

On December 10, His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians; extended His blessings to the participants of the WCC Round Table Charitable Foundation year end annual meeting, convened in the “Karekin I” Educational Center of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin.
The meeting began with the “Lord’s Prayer” and the welcoming remarks of His Grace Bishop Mushegh Babayan, President of the Round Table Board of Trustees.

His Grace Bishop Musheg Babayan stressed the importance of various programs implemented by the Round Table Foundation, due to which representatives of Churches and various non-governmental organizations gather around one idea.
According to His Grace remark, the foundation, through its activities, carries out the most important message of Christ: love for one another.

Then His Holiness Karekin II, Catholicos of All Armenians extended his fatherly blessings and message to those presents  reflecting on the 22 years of productive work that the Round Table Foundation approved by the Mother See and the World Council of Churches, has implemented  in partnership with Churches and various organizations, serving the needs of our people and our homeland.

His Holiness with gratitude emphasized the effective cooperation with various departments of the Mother See and its dioceses.

“During these years we have been following the activity of the Round Table Foundation and would like to highly appreciate the devotion and the spirit of commitment that exists within this Foundation. With its activities, the Foundation responds to all the problems that exist in our public life, trying to bring useful service to our people based on the views and positions of the Church”- stated the Armenian Pontiff.

His Holiness particularly highlighted the social and educational programs aimed at the comprehensive development of communities, the program entitled “Armenia and Its Neighbors” aimed to the re-establishment of peace and the reconciliation between people in the region, as well as the priest training and experience exchange courses for their pastoral mission.

Dr. Karen Nazaryan, Executive Director of the Foundation, also delivered a welcoming speech.

Financial Reports on the activity of the Foundation in various spheres were also presented.

Present at the meeting were   members of the Board of Trustees of the Foundation, representatives of the partner companies and institutions, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary H.E. Mr. Michael Johannes Banzhaf, Head of EU Delegation to Armenia, Ambassador Andrea Wiktorin, Brotherhood members, priests serving in the dioceses and representatives of non-governmental organizations.
