Catholicos of All Armenians and President of Artsakh Discussed the Challenges Facing the Armenians of Artsakh
On April 17, in the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians; hosted Mr. Arayik Harutyunyan, President of the Republic of Artsakh. The Pontiff of All Armenians and the President of Artsakh discussed the challenges facing the Armenians of Artsakh and the steps taken to overcome the consequences of the Second War of Artsakh. In this regard, both sides emphasized the importance of uniting the national potential and efforts in support of the people of Artsakh. During the conversation, reference was made to the programs of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin related to the spiritual care and support to the Armenians of Artsakh, in particular, the families of the martyred, captives and the missing. In this regard, the President of Artsakh expressed his gratitude to His Holiness, for the support of the Mother See and its dioceses around the world during the war, as well as in the post-war period. The Armenian Patriarch and President Arayik Harutyunyan touched upon the steps being taken by the Armenian Church to preserve the historical-cultural and spiritual heritage, to stop the harassments and atrocities in the occupied territories of Artsakh.
