Blessing of New Building Foundation in the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin

On August 31, the foundation was blessed for a new building which will house the Members of the Brotherhood of Holy Etchmiadzin. His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, presided during the service of blessing.
The priests of the Mother See currently reside in an existing residential building in the complex, but their rapidly growing numbers require a greater number of rooms with modern amenities. Through the generosity of Mr. Richard Manoogian, of Michigan, USA the construction of new living quarters for the priests has become a reality. The architect of the building is Mr. Ruben Azatian, Chief Architect of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin. The new two-story residential building will have approximately 50 rooms. Its completion date is scheduled for 2004.
The benefactor?s sister - Mrs. Louise Manoogian Simone, her daughter Christine, guests from abroad, members of the Brotherhood, and staff of the Mother See attended the ceremony.
