Bishops Assembly Convened in the Mother See

On June 11, under the presidency of His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians; an Assembly of Bishops of the Mother See, Primates of the Dioceses of Armenia, and Diocesan Vicars, was held in the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin.
During the meeting, they discussed the incident that occurred during the Divine Liturgy being offered in the St. Gregory the Illuminator Mother Church in Yerevan on June 10.
They issued a statement which said in part: “We express our pain and frustration for the unacceptable actions by a group of people in the St. Gregory the Illuminator Church in Yerevan, which are strictly condemned, regardless of the motives. There is no excuse for anything that disrupts the prayerful peace of the spiritual environment and upsets the religious disposition of the faithful”.
The Assembly also decided to continue to take all measures to enable the members of the initiative to return to the canonical sphere.
