Armenian Pontiff Receives Newly Appointed Ambassador of Romania
On December 4, in the Mother See of Holy Etchhmiadzin, His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians; received Mr. Sergey Minasyan, newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentary of the Republic of Armenia to Romania.
During the meeting, His Holiness congratulated the Ambassador on his appointment, and wished him successful work for the benefit of strengthening the friendly relations and cooperation between Armenia and Romania.
His Holiness referred to the close Armenian-Romanian ties that have been formed since the early Middle Ages, as well as the important role of the Armenian community in the political, economic, and cultural life of Romania; noting that thanks to their praiseworthy contributions, Romanian-Armenians today enjoy the respect of the authorities of the country.
During the meeting, Ambassador Minasyan expressed gratitude to the Catholicos of All Armenians for the blessing and best wishes, assuring that he would make every effort to strengthen the Armenian-Romanian relations. In his mission, the newly appointed Ambassador highlighted the cooperation with the Armenian Diocese of Romania and national institutions.
They also spoke about the warm relations of the Armenian Apostolic and Romanian Orthodox Churches.
The meeting was attended by His Eminence Archbishop Nathan Hovhannisyan, Director of the External Relations and Protocol Department of the Mother See.
