Armenian Pontiff Receives Ambassador of Romania
On November 27, in the Mother See of Holy Etchhmiadzin, His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians; held a final meeting with Mr. Sorin Vasile, outgoing Ambassador, Extraordinary and Plenipotentary of Romania to the Republic of Armenia.
His Holiness noted with joy that the centuries-old warm relations between the two nations still continue to develop. His Holiness affirmed that throughout history, the Romanian-Armenian community has made significant contributions in various areas of Romanian life, and today are also fully involved in the life of the country.
His Holiness also stressed that he recalls his pontifical visits to Romania with a special warmth.
Ambassador Vasile also conveyed to His Holiness his kind impressions from his tenure in Armenia. The Ambassador specifically reflected on the close cooperation with the Mother See, as well as spoke about the important mission of the Armenian Church in maintaining the unity of the worldwide Armenian nation.
At the conclusion, asking for God's blessing on the bilateral relations, His Holiness wished the Ambassador success in his future diplomatic mission.
The meeting was attended by His Eminence Archbishop Nathan Hovhannisyan, Director of the External Relations and Protocol Department of the Mother See.
