Armenian Pontiff Receives Ambassador of India
On June 27, in the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians; held a final meeting with Mr. Sangvan Yogeshvar, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the India to the Republic of Armenia, who completes his diplomatic mission in Armenia.
His Holiness highly assessed the Ambassador's contribution to the strengthening of Armenian-Indian ties. The Armenian Ponti ff noted that Armenia and India have centuries-old friendly relations, and the history of the Armenian community in India is rich with many beautiful experiences and testimonies.
His Holiness also expressed his gratitude for the displayed attention by the Embassy towards the Mother See, as well as for the support provided to the students and staff of the Armenian College and Philanthropic Academy of Calcutta.
Expressing gratitude for the appreciation remarks, Mr. Sangvan Yogeshvar noted that the Armenian-Indian relations are at a high level and have great potential for a further development. The Ambassador shared his impressions of the three-year service to His Holiness.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the Catholicos of All Armenians wished the Ambassador success in his future activities.
