Announcement of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin

The Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin is deeply concerned about the hostilities unleashed by Azerbaijan on the eastern border of the Republic of Armenia, which threaten to escalate into a full-scale war. Azerbaijan, ignoring the terms of the November 09, 2020 trilateral declaration, has revealed a new ambition-this time for the sovereign territories of the state of Armenia.
The Armenian Church calls on the international community, inter-church and inter-religious organizations, and leaders of sister churches to raise their voices by all possible means, to stop the next encroachments of the Azerbaijani side, in order to save human lives, protect fundamental rights, and prevent a new tragedy.
The Armenian Church urges its children around the world to be strong in the homeland, to do what they can, to bring the above-mentioned condemnable actions to the attention of their states and international organizations, which again destabilize the situation in the region and disrupt the fragile peace.
The Catholicos of All Armenians and the Clergy prays for the steadfastness of the Armenian state, the unity of the nation, and the spiritual strength of the patriotic defenders to overcome the present challenges, and restore peace, security, and dignified life for our people.
