On October 20, at the third meeting of the religious Primates of the Organization of Turkic States in Baku, which continued in occupied Shushi, Sheikh-ul-Islam Allahshukur Pashazade, the president of the Caucasus Muslim Department, once again made false and deceitful statements and judgments regarding the Karabakh conflict, ethnic cleansing, destruction of Turkish-Islamic cultural-spiritual heritage, usurpation of holy places, Azerbaijani pacifism and Armenian revanchism, in relation to which the state and spiritual structures of the Armenian side have repeatedly given answers and clarifications. The spiritual Primate of Azerbaijan didn't even bother to address accusations to the Armenian Church and in the context of false attributions, he sent an appeal to Holy Etchmiadzin and instructions to guide our people to steps that will bring "not new disasters, but salvation".
It is strange that after the war unleashed by Azerbaijan against the people of Artsakh in 2020 and the inhuman atrocities committed, the provocative speech of Sheikh-ul-Islam Allahshukur Pashazade has not changed at all. The president of the Caucasus Muslim Department, who supposedly emphasizes the peaceful coexistence of peoples, contrary to the spirit of the messages adopted in the tripartite meetings of spiritual leaders, is at the same time silent about Azerbaijan's continued aggression, belligerence and Armenian hatred, invasions of the sovereign territory of Armenia, daily provocations at the borders, shelling of peaceful settlements, illegal detention of Armenian captives of war and regarding the facts of torturing, brutally depriving the lives, mutilating and desecrating the bodies of the victims, violating the right to free and independent life of our people of Artsakh, destroying and usurping the Armenian historical, cultural and spiritual heritage, which have been clearly and thoroughly documented by the international community and structures.
The listed issues need quick solutions, and the humanitarian issues need the attention and mediation efforts of the spiritual Primate of Azerbaijan even more. Holy Etchmiadzin calls upon Sheikh-ul-Islam Allahshukur Pashazadeh, president of the Caucasus Muslim Department, to take visible steps in this direction, to remove the pain and sorrow from the grieving souls, faithful to his spiritual calling and mission.
